Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Electrical and Power System Engineer in Lanham, MD to contribute to next-generation satellites. You will join a cross-functional team owning the full development and operations cycle of electrical power systems, from requirements to post-launch data reviews and anomaly investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with strong academic performance.
• Familiarity with electrical power system components such as batteries, solar panels, harness, and power control and distribution units.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with satellite power systems and space mission requirements.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team or technical project.
• Preferred: 3-7 years of experience in power systems design for space applications.
• Preferred: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain unit- and subsystem-level technical requirements.
• Lead trade studies, architecture development, and interface definition at the unit and subsystem level.
• Support detailed design activities, including schematics, layouts, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Perform electrical and power analyses including power integrity, transient analysis, and grounding analyses.
• Plan and lead unit- and subsystem-level acceptance and qualification testing, including EGSE definition and test reports.
• Lead failure investigations and support root-cause analysis during testing and operations.
• Conduct on-orbit data reviews and support anomaly investigation and resolution.
