Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Herndon, VA seeks a Lead, System Engineering to provide mission engineering support for a Washington, DC based customer. The role requires deep knowledge of spaceflight hardware and software, and the ability to analyze and solve complex system problems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Engineering or Physics, 9+ years of relevant experience (or a Graduate Degree with 7+), and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related scientific discipline and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant systems engineering background.
• 4 years’ relevant experience with space systems and/or sensor systems technology design, manufacture, integration, test.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mission Operations support to current L3Harris products.
• Help develop and verify mission CONOPs as well as drive current CONOPS to successful program execution.
• Work with off-site factory support and on-site customers in a fast paced, multi-company environment.
• There is an on-call component and occasional surge or shift work.
