Job summary

Lunar Outpost in Denver is seeking a Lead Mission Director to lead LTV mission operations in a high-stakes, startup-style environment. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Requires at least 15 years of spaceflight mission operations experience with technical leadership.
  • Ability to lead across multi-disciplinary teams and in collaborative environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical and administrative skills are mandatory.
  • Working nights, weekends, and holidays may be required during active mission operations.
  • U.S. Person status is required.

Responsibilities

  • Make real-time mission execution decisions during LTV operations to manage resources for crew safety and mission success.
  • Lead a flight operations team and oversee safety and success of human spaceflight missions.
  • Coordinate as primary Mission Operations POC between Systems Engineering, AI&T, and Program Office.
  • Develop and evaluate mission objectives according to guidelines and constraints.
  • Create and execute Flight Plans per mission requirements.
  • Develop and enforce Flight Rules for crew and vehicle safety.
  • Lead development of Lunar Outpost mission plans with NASA and stakeholders.
  • Determine contingency actions for crew/vehicle and ground systems to restore normal operations.
