Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Signal & Image Processing and Modeling & Simulation Engineering to lead mission architecture and provide technical leadership across SDA Tracking activities. You will guide architecture definition, performance modeling, and contractor oversight for space-based missile warning, tracking, and defense systems.

Role requires 12+ years in space systems engineering, TS/SCI clearance, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in engineering, math, computer science, physics, or related discipline
• 12+ years of engineering experience in space systems with leadership growth
• Experience in MWTD space vehicle development and space-to-ground systems integration
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional high-performance teams
• Strong communication skills and data-driven decision making
• Willingness to travel domestically ~10%
• Current TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Lead mission architecture development for space-based missile warning and tracking systems
• Provide MWTD technical leadership across all tranches and program offices
• Drive proliferation of LEO constellations and space architecture concepts
• Guide contract execution, performance assessment, and on-orbit operations planning
• Direct engineering teams and coordinate contractor oversight and system analyses
• Bridge requirements definition with enterprise stakeholders and warfighter needs
