Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in the United States is seeking a senior loads and dynamics engineer to serve as the technical authority for the loads that define a space vehicle's survival through ascent, stage separation, entry, and reuse. You will set methodology, choose fidelity, and mentor engineers.

You will own load cases, build dynamic models, and deliver clear load sets to structures, mechanisms, and propulsion teams. Advanced degrees and experience with flight hardware preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
  • Extensive experience in loads, structural dynamics, or vibration analysis for flight hardware.
  • Proficiency with finite element modeling and dynamic analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vehicle loads as discipline lead across ground handling, ascent, separation, entry, landing, and reuse.
  • Establish methods, tools, and standards for the loads discipline.
  • Build and maintain structural dynamic models and reconcile with test data.
  • Define vibration, shock, acoustic, and random-vibe environments for components.
  • Perform CLA and integrate inputs into a consistent load set.
  • Deliver load sets and interface requirements to teams.
  • Assess flutter, buffet, slosh, and aeroelastic phenomena.
  • Support test planning and correlate results to models.
  • Investigate anomalies and reconstruct flight loads from telemetry.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide technical direction.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field
