CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Communication Systems Engineer to own the design, configuration, and operation of space-to-ground links for our upcoming satellites. You will define how the satellite talks to the ground in nominal and off-nominal conditions, ensuring reliable command, telemetry and fault recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with satellite communications and RF systems.
• Experience designing, verifying, and operating satellite links.
• Knowledge of COMSEC, space-link licensing, and ITU/FCC compliance.

Responsibilities

• Model, analyze and maintain satellite link budgets and RF links.
• Architect crypto solutions for flight hardware and end points.
• Troubleshoot ground station networking and on-site terminals.
• Define radio use across mission phases including emergency recovery.
• Support RF link test campaigns and end-to-end validation.
• Optimize low-SWaP links and mitigate interference.
