Lead Spa Massage Therapist - Conrad Los Angeles (Finance)

In this role as a Lead Spa Massage Therapist, you will be responsible for assisting with guests' comfort in a courteous and professional manner while performing all massage therapy services. You will support and lead the massage therapist staff in guest satisfaction, safety, sanitation, proper technical procedures, and spa profit maximization.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of massage therapy practice or experience in a resort spa. Shiatsu and Thai massage certifications are preferred. Previous customer service experience is also preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The candidate must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in English is required for effective communication with guests and staff. The role requires the ability to work a full 8-hour shift, walking and standing, with or without reasonable accommodation. The candidate must hold current state and local massage therapy certifications and be able to perform body treatments and massages, maintaining treatment rooms and supplies. Availability to work weekends and holidays is necessary.

What will I be doing?

  1. Coordinate and deliver training in massage therapies and body treatments, including cleanliness, restocking, product knowledge, and department protocols.
  2. Assist in product dispersal and upkeep of product dispensaries.
  3. Participate in the interview process for new massage therapists.
  4. Provide ongoing feedback to employees regarding their performance and quality of work, and communicate disciplinary actions to management as needed.
  5. Propose protocol changes and assist in developing new departmental protocols.
  6. Act as a role model in hospitality by demonstrating timely guest pickup, delivering full treatment times, consulting with guests, and anticipating guest needs.
  7. Assist in active recruitment of massage therapists.
  8. Maintain effective relations with all resort departments.
  9. Assist in planning and preparing for staff meetings.
  10. Know all technical procedures, including the Spa reservation system.
  11. Ensure Massage Technician Permits are current.
  12. Maintain open communication with staff, being receptive to feedback.
  13. Ensure equipment safety and proper functioning.
  14. Support spa sales team to maximize scheduling, especially during group bookings.
  15. Coordinate on-site training for new products.
  16. Ensure coverage during call-offs and short-staffed days.

The hourly rate is $20.73, based on experience and location.
