Kansas City Live! is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to lead day-to-day culinary operations in a high-volume kitchen.

You will manage staff, control food costs, maintain cleanliness and safety, train team members, and uphold the highest quality standards while supporting the head chef. The position requires leadership, organization, and the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary courses or related degree preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience supervising/managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong written and verbal communication.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Control and/or assist with day-to-day culinary operations within company guidelines.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards.
• Uphold consistent product and service standards of the highest quality.
• Manage food costs through ordering, inventory, reviewing reports, and actions.
• Ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain kitchen organization and compliance with standards.
• Recruit, interview and hire supervisory and hourly staff; supervise and motivate; take disciplinary action.
• Train employees on an ongoing basis.
• Lead by example and mentor new staff.
