Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Sous Chef for a full-time role in the United States. You will prepare meals, manage kitchen operations, and help lead a busy culinary team to meet high standards.

The ideal candidate has a culinary degree or equivalent and at least two years in a lead role, with experience in high-volume catering and a focus on safety, training, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree preferred.
• Two or more years in a culinary lead role.
• Experience in a high-volume catering environment preferred.
• Ability to build relationships by listening and responding to clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals to meet specifications in a timely manner.
• Properly measure ingredients and portions.
• Ensure standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements are followed.
• Use kitchen knives and equipment in food preparation.
• Manage kitchen inventory and freshness of supplies.
• Monitor temperatures and proper storage after cooking.
• Keep workstation and equipment clean, organized and sanitized.
• Take charge of opening/closing and other duties as directed by Executive Chef.
