The Cedars of Chapel Hill is seeking a Full Time Sous Chef to oversee the kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef. You will assist with planning, costing, and executing menus, theme buffets, and holiday menus, and help manage food orders and production sheets.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years in fine dining settings, culinary education, and supervisory experience. English communication and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Two to three years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred.
• Culinary education and supervisory background desirable.
• Ability to plan and organize work and interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards.

Responsabilités

• Direct the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Assist with creating, planning, costing, and executing menus, theme buffets, specials, and holiday menus.
• Assist with food orders, production sheets, and related materials.
• Assist the Executive Chef in executing catered and special functions.
• Assist kitchen staff with all aspects of daily assignments, as required.
• Inform the Executive Chef of activities and operational problems, making suggestions for improvement and corrections as needed.
• Assist with daily shift-change walkthroughs of kitchen staff.
