bartaco is seeking a Sous Chef to lead the kitchen in Westport, bringing our guest-obsessed culinary culture to life. You’ll mentor the culinary team, ensure taste and presentation meet our high standards, and keep operations smooth during service.

You’ll inspire your staff with energy, maintain a positive work environment, and collaborate with front-of-house leadership to deliver memorable guest experiences. This role offers competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of culinary management experience.
• A culinary arts degree is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent cooking skills are expected.
• Experience mentoring and training hourly team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily kitchen operations and provide professional direction to the culinary team.
• Ensure all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet bartaco standards.
• Oversee guest experience and adherence to quality guidelines.
• Foster a positive work environment and mentor staff.
• Manage scheduling, inventory, and food cost controls.
• Collaborate with FOH management to maintain service standards.
