Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community is seeking a Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations and ensure high standards for meals and service. You will prepare diverse dishes, supervise the culinary team, and help tailor meals to residents’ preferences.

The role emphasizes leadership, quality, and collaboration with staff to create meaningful dining moments for residents while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree preferred.
• Basic computer skills; data entry experience preferred.
• Previous leadership in culinary preparation and cooking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality and presentation of every dish using broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing.
• In the Executive Chef’s absence, lead the culinary team and prepare scratch-made dishes.
• Support resident satisfaction by training team members using RLC training programs.
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and stocked workstations and Chef’s Pantry.
• Monitor temperatures and follow closing checklists.
• Participate in meetings and share ideas to enhance the dining experience.
