Job summary

Dematic in Atlanta, GA seeks a Solution Development Project Engineer to lead large-scale material handling system projects. You will translate complex requirements into actionable concepts and guide multi‑disciplinary teams with customers to deliver leading intralogistics solutions.

You will own engineering deliverables during quotation, assess risks, and drive cost/value optimization while coordinating with internal teams and vendors. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in material handling, automation, or complex system engineering.
• Background in construction estimating, project management, mechatronics, systems, controls, or industrial engineering.
• Strong leadership of cross‑disciplinary teams with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer and sales requirements; collaborate with partners to develop executable system concepts.
• Lead teams to build 3D models and proposal drawings; push design to concept freeze.
• Generate material lists and clear scope-of-work summaries.
• Issue RFPs and validate vendor proposals.
• Identify and apply standard subsystems and modules.
• Assess project risks to mitigate financial, technical, and schedule risk.
• Set priorities and foster cross‑departmental collaboration.
• Lead technical and pricing reviews for assigned projects.
• Own engineering activities and deliverables during quotation.
• Apply value engineering to improve performance or reduce cost.
• Ensure smooth turnover to execution teams with clear scope.
• Provide accountability for all technical, cost, and contractual aspects; liaise with internal teams and vendors.
