Job summary

Dematic is hiring a motivated Solution Development Project Engineer to develop large-scale material handling systems. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, collaborate closely with customers and bring industry leading solutions to the market.

Your skill in translating complex requirements into actionable system concepts will directly impact project success and customer value. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90,750 to $125,000 at the time of posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in material handling, automation, or complex system engineering.
• Experience in Construction Estimating, Project Management, Mechatronics, Systems, Controls, or Industrial Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Review customer and sales requirements; collaborate with partners to develop executable system concepts.
• Lead team members to build 3D models and proposal drawings, driving design to concept freeze.
• Generate material lists and clear scope-of-work summaries.
• Issue quote requests and validate vendor proposals.
• Identify and apply standard subsystems and modules.
• Identify and assess project risks to mitigate financial, technical, and schedule risk.
• Set priorities and develop cross-departmental collaboration.
• Lead technical and pricing reviews for assigned projects.
• Own all engineering activities and deliverables during the quotation phase.
• Apply value engineering to improve performance or reduce cost.
• Ensure smooth turnover to execution teams with clear scope.
• Provide accountability for technical, cost, and contractual aspects; liaise with internal teams and vendors.
• Produce and maintain documentation for estimating deliverables.
• Fully interpret and respond to customer RFPs and specifications.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and align with SDNA processes.
