Job summary

National Grid seeks a Lead Solution Architect to shape architecture for Electric Work and Asset Management solutions. You will guide design across programs, driving innovation and ensuring alignment with business goals.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, secure scalable design, and experience with enterprise architectures in utilities domains. They require 5+ years in system design for large enterprises, hands-on development, and familiarity with TOGAF and modern software technologies

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
5+ years designing systems for large-scale enterprises.
5+ years hands-on technology development or implementation.
Strong skills in vendor selection, tech analysis, REST interfaces, and modern tech (containers/microservices).
Experience with TOGAF or similar framework domains and architecture tools.

Responsibilities

Align IT strategies with business goals and identify capability gaps and tech recommendations.
Provide technical leadership for design of complex, large-scale systems to meet business needs.
Define roadmaps from as-is to to-be state and outline high-level migration plans to address gaps.
Lead solution design and guide implementation of scalable, robust, and secure solutions.
Create conceptual architecture addressing high-level business requirements and develop logical/physical architectures.
