Job summary

Karsun Solutions seeks a Lead Solution Architect to drive modernization of legacy applications into cloud-native, microservices-based systems. You will define the technical vision, build end-state architectures, and lead cross-functional teams across security, data, and development disciplines.

The ideal candidate brings deep API-first design, DevSecOps, IaC, and AI-assisted development expertise, and will mentor teams while presenting roadmaps to executives.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• 15+ years of software architecture and development experience leading modernization initiatives.
• 7+ years designing microservices, RESTful APIs and event-driven systems at enterprise scale.
• 5+ years cloud architecture experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with containers and serverless.
• Strong hands-on coding skills in modern languages (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Go).
• Proven ability to drive alignment across stakeholders including executives.
• Knowledge of API design, API management, integration patterns, and service mesh architectures.
• Security architecture with OAuth/OIDC/SAML and federal compliance (FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Experience with DevSecOps, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), automated testing, deployment automation.
• Excellent communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for modernization.
• Lead design of cloud-native architectures using microservices and APIs.
• Design and deploy ML models and data pipelines with Python and MLOps.
• Develop low-code and AI-driven business applications with automation.
• Drive consensus across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Provide hands-on leadership with proofs-of-concept and demos.
• Champion AI-assisted development tooling to improve SDLC.
• Lead technology evaluations for frameworks and infra.
• Design API strategies and integrations with customer ecosystems.
• Ensure security posture meets federal requirements.
• Collaborate with SRE for DevSecOps pipelines and observability.
• Mentor architects and engineers, fostering excellence.
• Define success metrics and architecture health indicators.
• Coordinate with data architects for data access patterns.
