Job summary

GITAI USA in Torrance, CA seeks an experienced propulsion engineer to lead end-to-end solid rocket motor development, from formulation to hot-fire testing, and to push hardware toward mission readiness.

You will refine propellant formulations, plan tests, analyze performance data, and resolve technical risks across combustion and materials, working closely with manufacturing and test teams onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field related to propulsion.
• 5+ years of experience in solid rocket propulsion or related hardware development.
• Experience owning end-to-end motor development from formulation to design iteration.
• Strong understanding of propellant combustion and motor performance.
• Ability to make independent engineering decisions and drive rapid build-test-learn cycles.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solid rocket motor development from formulation and build through hot-fire testing.
• Develop and refine propellant formulations, processing methods, grain configurations, and motor designs.
• Plan and execute hot-fire tests, analyze data, and drive design iterations.
• Identify and resolve risks across combustion, materials, manufacturing, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to push hardware toward mission readiness.
