Job summary

The AES Operations team is seeking a Solar Technician II to cover O&M activities at utility-scale solar sites in Michigan, with potential travel to NE projects. The role requires hands-on maintenance, switching, and strong safety practices, and will involve training others in the field.

The successful candidate will commute to the Calhoun County Solar site in Albion, MI, and support broader AES CE operations as the company expands its solar portfolio.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of PV O&M experience on solar sites.
• Five+ years in a power plant environment; PV O&M or construction preferred.
• Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals and control circuits.
• Ability to read and understand English; safe work practices

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on utility-scale PV plants.
• Execute switching, clearance orders, and ensure safety/environmental compliance.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment like SunGrow inverters and trackers.
• Support and train field personnel; work independently or in crews.
