Our client, an established and rapidly growing renewable energy provider, is looking for a Lead Solar Technician to support the company’s growing demand for residential solar installations. This person will be a key member of their solar division in both ensuring the efficient and timely completion of solar system repairs as well as the training and oversight of other service technicians and site surveyors. This Lead Solar Technician role is a full-time, permanent position with our client.

Job Responsibilities

• Traveling to customer locations across the New York City metropolitan area to conduct and complete service requests and site assessments (when necessary)
• Responding to service calls for residential solar systems that are not performing as expected and conducting thorough inspections to diagnose technical issues
• Performing necessary repairs, including (but not limited to): inverter troubleshooting, panel replacement, and wiring corrections
• Assessing customers’ electrical systems and roofing conditions
• Documenting findings, repairs, and solutions and uploading all pertinent information into the company’s systems
• Coordinating with customers, solar designers, roofers, and other internal stakeholders
• Performing detailed roof measurements and create accurate blueprints of the roof
• Testing electrical panels in homes to ensure they are suitable for solar installation
• Using drones and other technology to gather precise data and document all findings in detailed reports
• Assisting in preparing for Department of Buildings (DOB) electrical inspections, ensuring compliance with all regulations
• Supporting the operations team with additional tasks related to solar installations
• Ensuring safety standards are met and adhered to

Successful Candidates Must Have:

• At least 2 years of troubleshooting and repairing residential solar systems
• Familiarity with residential solar equipment, including Enphase inverters, racking, and wiring.
• Experience training new site surveyors
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites.
• The ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
• A basic understanding of NYC DOB electrical inspection requirements is a plus.
• The Lead Solar Technician role is a full-time, permanent role with a yearly salary of $70,000 to $90,000
