Job summary

Griffon Aerospace, based in Madison, Alabama, seeks a Senior Software Test Engineer to lead verification activities for our unmanned aircraft systems. You will translate requirements into verification strategies, build automated and hardware-in-the-loop capabilities, and drive test excellence for safety-critical aerospace software.

The role demands 7+ years in software testing, strong leadership, and expertise in Python, C, C++, and CI/CD. Must be able to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• 7+ years in software test, verification, or integration for embedded/mission-critical software.
• Experience leading requirements-based verification and defect triage.

Responsibilities

• Define software verification strategies, plans, procedures, environments, and acceptance criteria for complex UAS programs.
• Lead functional, integration, regression, performance, robustness, and system-level testing across software and hardware boundaries.
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks, simulators, test harnesses, and hardware-in-the-loop capabilities.
• Review requirements and architectures for testability, ambiguity, completeness, and verification coverage.
• Analyze failures, lead defect triage and root-cause investigations, verify corrective actions.
• Establish bidirectional traceability among requirements, test cases, results, anomalies, and baselines.
• Lead test readiness and results reviews, communicate technical risk, and mentor junior test engineers.
• Continuously improve test processes, metrics, tools, and laboratory practices while supporting safety and compliance objectives.
