Job summary

Griffon Aerospace in Madison, Alabama, is seeking a Junior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support oversight of software development and verification for unmanned aircraft systems. You’ll review lifecycle records, assist audits, and track corrective actions within a regulated aerospace environment.

The role requires a relevant bachelor's degree and 0–2 years of experience, with strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and the ability to obtain a U.S. SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of software quality assurance, software engineering, testing, compliance, or related experience.
• Foundational understanding of software development lifecycles, document control, and configuration management.
• Ability to evaluate records against documented requirements and identify discrepancies with evidence.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain auditable records.
• Proficiency with common office, collaboration, issue-tracking, or requirements-management tools.
• Strong organization, judgment, teamwork, and written communication skills.
• Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review software lifecycle records for completeness, approvals, traceability, and compliance.
• Assist with software process audits, work-product reviews, and milestone assessments.
• Track audit findings, nonconformances, corrective actions, and closure evidence.
• Verify software baselines, change records, problem reports, and release documentation.
• Support reviews of plans, standards, requirements, test records, and CM evidence.
• Collect and report quality metrics, recurring issues, and process-adherence trends.
• Maintain accurate quality records and support audit preparation.
• Promote adherence to software quality, safety, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement.
