State Farm in Bloomington, IL is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy security-focused software solutions, including identity management work with SPIFFE, HashiCorp Vault, and Entra ID. You will influence architecture, drive secure DevSecOps practices, and mentor teammates in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in a DevSecOps environment.
• Experience with at least 3 of the listed technologies (AWS, Terraform, Git & pipeline concepts, Bash, Python, Go, Puppet, Kubernetes, Java/JavaScript/TypeScript, Spring, Automation Scripting).
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience in software development and design.
• Strong understanding of security best practices.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

• Potential starting salary range: $85,500 - $177,000
• Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
• High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
• Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
