As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking – Global Technology team, you are an essential part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in, design, and develop scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produce or contribute to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, security, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, as well as experience with testing frameworks
• Solid understanding of lower-level design principles in JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience in optimizing JavaScript compilation for scalability and building command-line interfaces (CLI) is essential
• Strong background in one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or NodeJS
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI, ML, mobile)
• Experience with AWS services like ECS, Fargate, SNS, SQS, and RDS Postgres
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, security scans, and automation tools
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and design patterns such as micro frontends
• AWS Certification(s) (Associate or above)
