Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Credit Risk Technology organization.

You will be a core technical contributor, delivering trusted, scalable technology products in a secure environment while guiding and collaborating with agile teams. Responsibilities include building and refining production code, leading modernization efforts, ensuring operational stability, and guiding architectural decisions with internal/external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in Java or Python.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases/Transact SQL (Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server).
• Strong knowledge of Databricks.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Lead modernization and upgrade of the Credit Risk technology stack.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews/debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on designs and applicability.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies.
• Contributes to team culture with diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
