Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join a Consumer & Community Banking Technology team. You will be a core technical contributor, shaping architecture and delivering trusted, scalable software products in a secure environment.

You will design, develop, and secure production code, mentor teams, and drive more automated, resilient systems while collaborating with vendors and internal partners to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s).
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Experience with cloud native environments and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability
• Proficiency in relevant back-end languages such as JavaScript (Node.js), Python, PHP, C#, or Java
• Proven experience with theTwilio stack (Sendgrid, Engage) or Salesforce Marketing Cloud and general RESTful APIs
• Understanding of API security, OAuth2, and secure credential management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for deployment and monitoring.
• Knowledge of email infrastructure, deliverability best practices, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
• Experience with DevOps tools like Docker or Twilio CLI, and database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
• Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
