Job summary

Jobtailor in United States, Montana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a Top Secret clearance to lead planning, design, coding, and testing of customer features. You will translate system requirements into software specs and drive risk mitigation across the lifecycle.

You must have 5+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years with Java and/or C++ OO programming, 3+ years leading projects, and 1+ year of MATLAB experience. Mentoring juniors is a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Top Secret U.S. Security clearance required.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Java and/or C++ object-oriented programming.
• 3+ years of experience leading software development projects.
• 1+ years of MATLAB experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning of software development tasks, including detailed software design, coding, and unit/integration/functional/system testing of customer desired features/user stories.
• Partner with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and translate system-level requirements into software requirements.
• Review completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk, issues and opportunities; lead integration and deployment of mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle.
• Lead code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standard.
• Lead monitoring and reviewing test completion, verification processes and issue resolution for software systems.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers in software development.
