Job summary

Thompson Street Capital Partners seeks an experienced software engineer to join RMS in a remote-friendly role. You will upgrade, develop, and integrate code, design tests, and help modernize existing systems.

The ideal candidate has strong Java backend skills, SQL/ORM experience, Linux familiarity, and a penchant for design patterns and secure coding. You will collaborate in a small team and influence continuous improvement while delivering reliable software.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development skills with Java.

• Educational background and experience in the field.
• Experience with code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito.
• Experience with SQL Databases (SQL/Stored Procedures, ORM tools).
• Experience with modern JavaScript Frameworks.
• Familiarity with scripting in Linux environment.
• Expert in Design Patterns and their uses.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with secure coding standards, dependency management and vulnerability remediation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills.
• Experience with C# or other programming languages.
• Version control (GIT).
• Experience working on legacy application modernization projects is a plus.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Machine learning and Python knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, debug, and correct for software bugs in live production environment.
• Use code libraries to simplify the writing of code.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
