Job summary

Optivolt in San Francisco, CA, seeks an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to contribute across the firmware development lifecycle for the Optivolt Hub and Balancer, with focus on performance and reliability.

You will work hands-on with hardware, implement embedded C/C++ under RTOS, script tooling in Python, and collaborate with hardware engineers to bring next-generation products to market. Travel may be limited but on-call support is required.

Qualifications

Proficient in writing reliable embedded C/C++ with RTOS.
Experience with Python for desktop tooling or scripting.
Ability to own features from concept to deployment, including design and testing.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded firmware for the Optivolt Hub and Balancer, including current and next-generation products.
Own full lifecycle of new features to maximize device performance and reliability.
Develop tests and test setups for unit and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Expand integration and unit test coverage and support tooling.
Collaborate with hardware engineers on next-generation hardware bring-up.
Provide customer support when issues escalate; some travel may be required.
