Job summary

Utah Tech University’s Parkspass program seeks a Software Engineer to lead design and development of web/mobile apps, payments, reservations, and API integrations. You will mentor junior developers and interns, set engineering standards, and ensure security and performance across platforms.

You’ll work with AWS, Stripe/Authorize.Net, and cloud services in a collaborative team, reporting to the Director of Parkspass and Innovation Labs. Salary ranges provided and strong benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software development, CS, or related field; substitution by experience allowed.
• Two years of internship or job experience; four+ years in software dev or gov exposure preferred.
• Expertise in JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5 and modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Proficiency with server-side languages (Python, Node.js, Go, PHP).
• Experience designing/consuming APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Familiarity with MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience linking apps to Stripe or Authorize.Net.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Cloudflare), Linux/Unix.
• Knowledge of UI/UX, authentication and SSO; SEO knowledge aPlus.
• Leadership and mentoring ability across projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of secure, scalable web and mobile apps for passes, reservations, payments, and visitor services.
• Architect and build APIs and integrations with payment processors and state/partner systems.
• Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components across the platform.
• Develop and maintain inventory web/mobile app for DABS.
• Integrate secure apps with merchant services, including transaction feeds.
• Design, implement and maintain authentication and SSO capabilities.
• Set engineering standards, code reviews, testing, security, and docs.
• Mentor junior developers and student interns with technical guidance.
• Monitor, optimize and support production systems for performance and security.
• Perform audits, maintenance and innovation across web properties as needed.
