Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in California is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Next-gen Firewall dataplane team. You will own large components, design and develop features for the next-generation firewall, and collaborate with product management to translate customer needs into robust software.

You will work on DPI, ML-based security modules, and scalable high-availability solutions, with cross-functional teams including QA and support; requires strong C, Python, and Unix/Linux experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in networking dataplane development.
• Expert in C, Python and Shell scripting.
• Expert in TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6.
• Knowledge of mobility 4G/5G, GTP/PFCP/SCTP a plus.
• Experience with large-scale Unix/Linux software.

Responsibilities

• Develop Next Gen Network Security Components and Protocols for firewalls across Enterprise, Data Center, Cloud, and Service Provider environments.
• Develop network security features for securing 4G/5G networks and enterprise deployments.
• Develop security modules using DPI, ML algorithms, and AI automation.
• Create scalable, highly available stateful failover solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Management, QA, Support and other teams on user requirements.
• Own tasks and drive them to completion as a decision maker.
