Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering; 5+ years applied experience.
• 8+ years of Java with collections, concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and microservices; API-first design and idempotency.
• Expert-level experience designing and implementing Python-based microservices.
• Deep knowledge of resiliency engineering and disaster recovery objectives with DR testing.
• Secure SDLC expertise: threat modeling, SAST/DAST, dependency risk, secrets handling, encryption, and authN/authZ.
• Kafka and messaging: topic design, partitioning, consumer group scaling, transactional semantics.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.
• Responsible AI practices, data sensitivity handling, and secure delivery.
• Observability: metrics/logs/traces, alerts, runbooks, incident management.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across teams; act as subject matter expert in resiliency and recovery observability.
• Own end-to-end architecture for critical Java services; define domain boundaries and API contracts.
• Design and review secure, high-quality production Java code; mentor through code reviews.
• Leverage SDLC toolchain and AI-assisted automation to improve value.
• Build and orchestrate AI capabilities for SAP processes within enterprise scope.
• Drive resilient service design: availability SLAs, latency budgets, error budgets.
• Lead secure SDLC practices: threat modeling, encryption, authN/authZ enforcement.
• Champion observability and SRE: instrument metrics/logs/traces; runbooks; postmortems.
• Advance data protection and recovery: evidence chain of custody and auditability.
• Support CI/CD quality: automated tests, coverage targets, gates, progressive delivery with rollback.
• Foster firmwide frameworks, tools, and best practices; promote diversity and inclusion.
• Support critical environments and lead on-call obligations for owned services.
