Job description

Lead Software Engineer – IoT Integration
  • Lead development of smart home IoT systems integrating embedded firmware, electronic hardware, mobile applications, and cloud services using Python, Go, Rust, C/C++, Kotlin, Swift, React, Firebase, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and analysis for field operation mobile applications by collaborating directly with warehouse staff, onsite technicians, and operations teams to define functional specifications, design user workflows, and identify process automation opportunities.
  • Design and develop mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using Swift and Kotlin to support field operations including device setup tools with MAC address assignment, floor plan-based device mapping, USB hardware communication for configuration deployment, and label printing systems for manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Architect backend systems and APIs using Python and Go to support mobile applications, implementing secure authentication, data synchronization, device provisioning, and real-time communication between mobile clients, cloud services, and IoT devices.
  • Design and develop embedded systems and firmware for IoT devices using C/C++ and Rust, implementing wireless communication protocols including BLE peripheral functionality, MQTT, and USB device protocols for device configuration and control.
  • Architect electronic circuits and PCB layouts for IoT hardware products, managing design-for-manufacturing (DFM) processes and coordinating with Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers in Japan, China, and other regions for prototype development and volume production.
  • Develop full-stack solutions spanning embedded firmware to cloud infrastructure, creating web interfaces using React for device configuration, monitoring, dashboard visualization, and administrative functions.
  • Implement data processing pipelines for IoT sensor data collection, transformation, storage, and analysis using MySQL and BigQuery, including automated configuration file generation, smart home asset management, and IFC file parsing systems.
  • Lead hardware development lifecycle including component sourcing, schematic design, PCB layout review, prototype testing, production cost analysis with EMS manufacturers, and supplier quality management across international manufacturing operations.
  • Design RESTful APIs and cloud infrastructure for IoT device integration, real-time monitoring, device provisioning, and cloud-based device management using Google Cloud Platform and AWS services.
  • Integrate third-party IoT devices and sensors through central hub architecture, ensuring interoperability across multiple wireless protocols (BLE, MQTT) and vendor platforms.
  • Gather user feedback from field technicians and warehouse staff, analyze operational pain points, and implement iterative improvements to mobile applications and IoT systems to enhance usability and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize rapid prototyping techniques including 3D printing (FDM) for mechanical enclosure development, iterative hardware design validation, and manufacturing tooling evaluation.
  • Implement automated testing frameworks, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and quality assurance processes across hardware, firmware, mobile applications, and cloud components.
