You’ll work in a collaborative, agile environment while driving development from concept through delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead embedded software development for new IoT devices, including hardware bring-up, firmware design, and system integration.

  • Own programs from start to finish: task planning, execution, and team feedback.

  • Design and implement embedded software in Rust and C for bare-metal and RTOS-based systems.

  • Develop and optimize communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) for seamless device-to-app connectivity.

  • Integrate with sensors and controllers using SPI and I²C protocols.

  • Partner with systems engineers to validate performance and ensure reliability in real-world applications.

  • Collaborate with companion teams (Android/iOS developers, product, hardware) to ensure end-to-end functionality.

  • Apply agile best practices and work effectively in asynchronous collaboration environments.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure high-quality, testable code.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in embedded software/firmware engineering.

  • Strong proficiency in Rust and C.

  • Hands-on experience with IoT development (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).

  • Experience with SPI and I²C communications.

  • Proficient with Git and common Git workflows.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and collaboration tools (MS Office or similar).

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Strong communication and ability to work autonomously in cross-functional teams.

  • Passion for food, grilling, and building connected experiences.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

  • Background in IoT product development from industries like consumer electronics, automotive, or tools (e.g., Milwaukee Tool, Chamberlain Group, Ford).

  • Hands-on maker attitude: personal projects such as building grills, home automation systems, or 3D printers.

  • Familiarity with quality systems and safety-critical design is a plus.

  • Note: We are not seeking Embedded Linux specialists (no advanced OS experience required).

  • Health Insurance, FSA, EAP, Employee Wellness Program, 401k, PTO, Maternity & Paternity Leave, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance
