Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Nicholasville, KY to drive development, integration, and support of software solutions across teams and partners. The role combines architecture, delivery, and people coordination to pursue strategic product initiatives.

The position involves owning acquired IP including lock firmware, Bluetooth, iOS/Android apps, PCBA software interfaces, and cloud-based lock management platforms, ensuring alignment with product strategy and business goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related technical field and at least 7 years of software engineering experience.
Experience leading technical projects, teams or cross-functional initiatives.
Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Experience with distributed teams, external partners, and third-party resources.

Responsibilities

Lead software development projects from concept through implementation and ongoing support.
Own integration, maintenance, and evolution of acquired IP (lock firmware, Bluetooth, mobile apps, PCBA interfaces, cloud platforms).
Act as technical SME across firmware, mobile apps, Bluetooth, PCBA interfaces, and cloud platforms.
Provide architecture, design, coding, testing, and troubleshooting guidance.
Architect scalable SaaS and connected-device solutions and drive quality and security outcomes.
