Job summary

Penske is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Digital Products for our Reading, PA offices. You will drive design, development, and delivery of scalable SaaS solutions, collaborating with Product Managers, Data, UX/UI, QA, and Infrastructure teams to ensure high-quality, user-focused products.

You will lead technical design, guide engineers, participate in discovery, and translate product vision into maintainable solutions. This is an office-first role requiring at least 4 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• 10+ years of software development experience for SaaS/digital products.
• Proficiency in modern web technologies and frameworks listed (React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring/Spring-MVC, myBatis, RESTful APIs).
• 2-4 years contributing to Agile product teams; 1-2 years leading medium to large digital projects.
• Experience designing cloud-native, scalable architectures for enterprise-grade SaaS apps.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, design patterns, and architectural best practices.
• Ability to own multiple applications and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication for collaboration across Product, Data, Design, Infrastructure.
• Mentoring engineers, conducting technical interviews, building high-performing teams.
• Understanding SVPG Product Operating Model principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts across the full product lifecycle in alignment with SVPG framework.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate vision and data into technical plans.
• Design scalable, reusable architectures for SaaS and digital products.
• Guide teams in CI/CD and cloud-native approaches.
• Partner with Data, QA, Design, Infrastructure to ensure secure, performant solutions.
• Participate in tollgate reviews with Architects, QA, Security, Operations.
• Mentor engineers and conduct technical interviews.
• Oversee multiple projects ensuring on-time delivery and quality.
• Troubleshoot and optimize production and pre-release environments.
• Document systems, architectures, and dependencies.
• Contribute to hiring decisions for the Digital Product Engineering team.
