Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join our software engineering team in Chicago, offering a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the downtown office and 2 days remote. You will shape software practices and mentor engineers while delivering cloud-native solutions using Azure, React, MVC and .NET within an Agile framework.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in software development, strong leadership, and proven success building scalable architectures with Docker/Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience with focus on Agile methodologies.
• 3+ years leading and mentoring a team of developers.
• Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud solutions and cloud deployment/management.
• 5+ years experience with React and .NET/C#.
• Experience in full-stack development, database design with SQL Server or similar.
• Familiarity with Azure/AWS and DevOps practices.
• Proficient in version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise software.
• Promote Agile practices through ceremonies like sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Oversee architecture and design for scalable, secure, high-performance solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and stakeholders to define requirements and timelines.
• Drive cloud-native design, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and API integrations.
• Review code, ensure best practices, and optimize operations and security.
