Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Lead Engineer to own full-stack features across frontend and backend, with hands-on coding in React, TypeScript, and Python. You’ll mentor engineers, set technical standards, and collaborate with product and design to deliver high-impact, customer-facing experiences.

You’ll contribute to AI-powered capabilities, API design, and scalable architectures while leading by example in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production web apps.
• Hands-on coding contributions in the last 2–3 years.
• Experience designing APIs and services using Python; familiarity with Node.js.
• Understanding of GenAI concepts: prompt engineering, MCP, LLM orchestration.
• Ability to lead through influence and conduct thoughtful code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack features across frontend and backend.
• Establish and uphold best practices for code quality, performance, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to deliver cohesive UX.
• Break down initiatives and provide estimates to drive delivery.
• Mentor engineers and provide ongoing technical guidance.
