Job summary

S&P Dow Jones Indices is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-performance fixed income calculation engines and analytics services. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and oversee end-to-end data processing pipelines in Agile teams.

You will evaluate new technologies, integrate AI-driven analytics, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, auditable financial applications at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with Enterprise Java Development (Java 17/21) or equivalents.
• Enterprise Framework Experience: Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security) or comparable frameworks.
• Distributed Systems Architecture: Microservices, RESTful APIs, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, SQS).
• AI Engineering: hands-on experience with AI/ML models and AI-driven analytics.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Fixed income system design and analytics; Agile product lifecycle.
• Autonomy and leadership in greenfield platform buildouts.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance calculation engines and services for fixed income indices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
• Lead code reviews, architecture discussions, and establish best practices for reliability.
• Work in Agile cycles to deliver features for the platform.
• Mentor junior developers and foster knowledge sharing.
• Modernise systems and adopt new technologies to improve performance and scalability.
• Architect and oversee calculation engines and analytics services with focus on latency and accuracy.
• Implement data lineage, reconciliation, anomaly detection, reproducibility, auditability.
• Lead and grow a team of engineers and quantitative developers.
• AI integration: design and deploy AI-driven data processing and analytics.
• Operate with autonomy to ramp up on complex domains and drive platform build-out.
