Job summary

Mastercard Technologies, LLC is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own and improve the full lifecycle of platform services. You will analyze ITSM activities, influence design, scale systems, and drive DevOps automation across global teams. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the United States with a comprehensive benefits package.

You will contribute to capacity planning, launch reviews, and incident response while mentoring junior engineers across time zones.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a global team across geographies and time zones and mentor junior resources.

Overview

Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.

Role

• Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns.


• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews.


• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.


• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.


• Support the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating, and lead Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices.


• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.


• Take a holistic approach to problem solving, by connecting the dots during a production event through the various technology stack that makes up the platform, to optimize mean time to recover.


• Work with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones.


• Share knowledge and mentor junior resources.

About You

• Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information systems, Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, Programmer Analyst or related.


• Qualifying experience must include one (1) year with each of the following: BMC Remedy Helix application 20.x+ and all ITSM modules, including integrations; Debugging issues; Webservices/Rest API; Creating and modifying server objects (Forms, Menus, Active Links, Filters, Escalations); Developing progressive views and customizations.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O’Fallon, Missouri: $140,000 - $231,000 USD
