Job summary

Republic Airways is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide hands-on technical guidance and develop enterprise software across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions, while championing best practices and DevOps processes.

The role focuses on owning critical systems, contributing to design reviews, and mentoring engineers to ensure high-quality delivery across the airline’s technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building modern cloud-native applications.
• Experience with secure SDLC practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and application resiliency.
• Proficiency with modern programming languages and frameworks, like C#, .NET, or Python
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases like Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, or MongoDB
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Strong advocate for agile development and engineering best practices.
• Experience owning production systems and driving technical implementation decisions end-to-end

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deliver, and own enterprise software solutions across multiple platforms and environments.
• Lead code reviews and ensure alignment with standards and long-term technical direction.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, mentoring, and peer reviews to software engineers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver features aligned with business and product roadmaps.
• Influence and promote software engineering standards, best practices, and development workflows.
• Design scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable solutions for complex problems.
• Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence for production systems.
• Work with architecture, infrastructure, IT security, QA, and vendor teams to improve reliability.
• Document designs, implementations, and operational processes clearly and effectively.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt modern tools, technologies, and practices.
• Own the technical implementation and long-term health of critical systems
