Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Common Components team. You will design and deliver secure, scalable software across reusable frameworks, SDKs, and tools used firmwide: the plumbing for authentication, resiliency, observability, and compliance.

You will work as a core technical contributor across multiple business functions to support the firm’s objectives. As a senior engineer, you will mentor peers, drive adoption of AI-assisted development

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with hands-on experience.
Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages and strong problem-solving skills.
Experience leading adoption of AI-assisted development tools and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
Drives enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development capabilities to improve automation value.
Identifies opportunities to automate recurring issues to improve stability.
Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams on architectural designs and applicability.
