Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in the Fraud Assessment Tech team in Plano, TX. You will design scalable Java services, build RESTful APIs, and drive data pipelines with Kafka while ensuring secure, reliable deployments.

You will lead technical delivery, collaborate with product and engineering peers, and promote AI-assisted development practices to improve code quality and delivery speed in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years applied experience in software engineering.
• 8+ years of Java experience including core APIs, web services, concurrency.
• 8+ years of Spring Boot experience building high-performance services.
• 5+ years of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling and performance tuning.
• 5+ years of Apache Kafka experience designing and implementing event-driven solutions.
• 2+ years of cloud experience, including deploying and operating services on AWS.
• Proven ability to design, deploy, and support medium to large applications in Agile (Scrum).
• Proficiency building secure, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience implementing CI/CD using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Spinnaker, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit 5 and Cucumber.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, resilient Java-based services and microservices.
• Build and maintain API-driven REST solutions and distributed architectures.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Model and tune relational and NoSQL data stores for performance and scale.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for frequent safe releases.
• Apply infrastructure-as-code to create repeatable environments and deployments.
• Monitor production systems and drive improvements in availability and latency.
• Conduct code reviews and help establish secure coding and testing standards.
• Translate business needs into technical designs and production-ready solutions.
