Career Techniques is seeking a senior software engineer in Melville, NY to lead the development of software from inception to deployment. You will architect scalable, reliable solutions and collaborate with multiple teams to drive transformational changes across platforms.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of production coding experience with OO programming (C# and/or Java).
• Experience developing with AI (Claude Code, Agent OS, Spec Driven development).
• SOA/microservices, advanced database schemas, relational and non-relational databases, scalable web services.
• Ability to context switch and manage multiple priorities.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful Web Services.
• Experience with microservices.
• Experience with SQL, Hibernate, and multiple DBs (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres).
• Experience with NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with automated testing (TDD, Mocking, unit/integration).
• Experience with version control and CI tools (Maven, Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Crucible, Jira).
• Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience with multiple programming/scripting languages.
• Extensive experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, SAFE).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of software projects from inception to deployment.
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions to challenging problems.
• Work closely with teams to deliver transformational changes across multiple teams.
• Lead the technical specification, development, integration, testing and release of software components.
• Identify and address technical challenges, optimize code for performance, and refactor.
• Use AI to develop applications and help solve problems.
