Job summary

Cvent is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Event Diagramming team (formerly Social Tables) in Tysons, VA. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of features across a modern web platform, balancing speed, quality, scalability, and maintainability while mentoring engineers.

Collaborate with product, design, and engineering peers to build high-impact experiences for planners and venues using TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and cloud-native services in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Strong experience building and scaling modern web applications, with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and API integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in Agile, team-based development environments.
• Customer-focused mindset and intention to build products that simplify event planning and venue collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and delivery of features across the Event Diagramming platform.
• Own technical decisions for major initiatives balancing speed, quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to build intuitive, high-impact experiences for planners and venues.
• Drive execution across a team or initiative while removing blockers and aligning stakeholders.
• Maintain a high bar for code quality, testing, reliability, and developer experience.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Identify technical risks early, improve engineering processes, and shape longer‑term architecture direction.
• Contribute to hiring and raise the engineering bar across the organization.
