Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York invites a Lead Software Engineer to join the Consumer and Community Banking Cobranded Cards Team.

You will play a crucial role as a core technical contributor, building, enhancing, and delivering trusted, scalable technology products in a secure environment. Responsibilities include designing and delivering secure production code in Java/Spring, developing RESTful services with Spring Boot, and guiding architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in Java, Spring, AWS, event streaming, SQL and NoSQL DB and building RESTful backend applications using Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, etc.
• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining API services, with knowledge of Microservices Design Patterns
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to go beyond routine.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams on architectural designs.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive adoption of new technologies.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools and automation to improve value.
