Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Irving, Texas, is seeking a skilled developer to help build the autonomous construction simulation platform.

You will contribute to a full-stack software stack, render 3D content, and collaborate with robotics teams to align requirements with robust implementations. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend coding (Java/Node.js) and 3+ years in frontend (HTML/CSS/JS) with frameworks like Angular/React, plus Python experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in 3D rendering and manipulation.
• Experience with mapping technology (GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers).
• Experience in leveraging web graphics / animation libraries.
• Advance knowledge of designing, building and using open source data and APIs (like GraphQL).
• Experience in designing, publishing and maintaining DB schema (SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience with best practices and processes for engineering teams.
• Experience with AI coding tools (like Claude, Copilot, Cursor).
• Experience with Cloud Platforms such as AWS (Preferred).
• Experience with web automation tooling and deploying on CI/CD (Webpack, ESLint, Playwright).

• Write high quality software, follow best practices and participate in code review.
• Work collaboratively with your peers, Onboard other peers.
• Participate in writing software design and requirements discussions.

• Participate actively in brainstorming and ideation sessions.

What you will do:

• Participate in the development of the simulation Software stack- full stack

Required Experience of building simulation and rendering platforms

• Experience in 3D object rendering and manipulation
• Experience with mapping technology (Like GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers)
• Experience in leveraging web graphic / animation standard library
• Advance knowledge of designing, building and using open source, publish data and APIs (like graphQL)
• Experience in designing, publishing and maintaining DB schema (SQL, NoSQL)
• Experience with best practices and processes for engineering team
• Experience with AI coding tool (like Claude, Copilot, Cursor)
• Experience with Cloud Platform such as AWS (Preferred), Azure, Google cloud / Firebase
• Experience with web automation tooling and deploying on CI/CD (Like WebPack, ESLint, Playright)
• G22 Drop animation, 3D, mapping + Drop backend years , front end "experienced"

Top Candidate: 5+ years of experience hands on coding backend in coding language such as Java or Node.Js 3+ years of experience hands on coding frontend in coding language such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript 3+ years of experience hands on coding with Framework such as Angular, React/NextJs Experience with agile methodology Good knowledge of Python Experience with Nvidia Omniverse or other Simulation Platform

Additional Details: This position is located in Irving, Texas We will consider location and sponsorship LI# Summary Pay Range: $128,470.00 - $208,770.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
