Who We're Looking For

A Lead Software Development Engineer is responsible for developing new applications and supporting the lifecycle of existing applications. This role involves supporting the development of subsystems for large-scale projects and building, delivering, and supporting Syniverse products and services. The candidate should be technically hands-on with strong engineering skills.

Some of What You'll Do

Scope of the Role:

• Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complex software modules meeting functional, performance, and user experience requirements.
• Automate and execute unit and functional tests to ensure software conformance.
• Modify existing software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance.
• Assist in project requirements gathering.
• Create agile stories from high-level designs using object-oriented or structured methods.
• Code and unit test applications within an Agile framework.
• Conduct integration testing across interfacing functional groups.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers during development phases.
• Document release notes detailing the implementation process.
• Assist operations during application deployment.
• Perform post-implementation monitoring and testing.
• Research customer-reported problems and replicate scenarios using testing tools.
• Research and recommend new technologies and methodologies for efficiency.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-8 years of development experience.
• Experience with IDEs and design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Agile processes.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of system architecture and testing benchmarks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and version control systems.
• Ownership and accountability for tasks.
