Job summary

Virtusa is seeking a Data Engineer who can contribute independently and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role requires deep Oracle SQL/PLSQL expertise, strong ETL experience with Informatica PowerCenter, and scripting in Unix and Python to support data pipelines.

Responsibilities include building data integration patterns for cloud and on-prem environments, tuning Oracle performance, and leveraging BI tools like OBIEE/OAS.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Expert-level knowledge of writing complex SQL queries using Oracle.
• Expert-level knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL (Stored Procedures, Functions, packages, triggers).
• Strong working experience in ETL tools like Informatica (Power Center).
• Experience with scripting/automation using Unix and Python in a Data Engineering environment.
• Extensive experience with Oracle relational databases and performance tuning techniques.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing patterns and dimensional modeling using Oracle.
• Experience building scalable data integration patterns in cloud-based and on-prem environments.
• Working knowledge of batch scheduling tools like Control-M and Autosys.
• Experience with BI/analytics tools such as OBIEE/OAS.
• Working experience using GitHub for SCM in a Data Engineering practice.

Data Engineer who has the ability to be an independent contributor with strong communication skills

• Minimum 6+ years of experience Expert-level knowledge of writing complex SQL queries using Oracle.
• Expert-level knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL (Stored Procedures, Functions, packages, triggers)
• Strong working experience in ETL tools like Informatica (Power Center)
• Working experience in scripting and automation using Unix, Python in a Data Engineering environment.
• Extensive experience with Relational Databases like Oracle including being able to implement performance tuning techniques
• Strong working knowledge of Datawarehousing patterns and Dimensional Modelling techniques using Oracle.
• Experience building scalable patterns for data integration in a cloud-based as well as on-prem environments
• Working knowledge of Batch scheduling tools like Control-M, Autosys.
• Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as OBIEE/OAS
• Working experience using GitHUB for Source Code Management (SCM) in a Data Engineering Practice.
