Job summary

Salesforce is seeking engineers to advance its Managed Runtime platform. You will write and release server-side Python, Java, and JavaScript code, and collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You will use Python with Django/Flask to orchestrate AWS deployments and leverage Node.js for performant, fault-tolerant services. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to drive impact across the platform.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience with Python/Java/JavaScript.
• Experience with MVC frameworks, relational databases, and ORMs.
• Experience deploying to cloud environments (AWS) and with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, queues, and async tasks.

What you’ll do:

• Write, test and release server-side Python, Java and JavaScript code early and often
• Collaborate in code and design review, and security assessment processes to create higher quality, secure, maintainable systems
• Build products with a cross functional product development team including product managers, designers and other engineers
• Use Python with Django and Flask to orchestrate deployments to our AWS-based hosting environment
• Use AWS technologies, and Node.js to create performant, scalable and fault tolerant deployments of Salesforce and partner developed code deployed on our infrastructure
• Present your work to your peers and stakeholders

Who you are:

• You have good general knowledge of data structures, web application deployment patterns and networking
• You’ve worked on a team that has built a large web application
• You have extensive experience using backend development languages like Python, Java and experience with MVC frameworks, relational databases and Object-Relational mappers
• You’ve implemented asynchronous tasks with a queue in a distributed system, using tools like Celery, Resque, Rqueue, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or Redis
• You’ve worked with complex deployments on AWS or other cloud providers, using tools like AWS Cloudformation, Terraform and Kubernetes
• You’ve used CDN infrastructure like Akamai, AWS Cloudfront or Cloudflare
• You have experience crafting Continuous Integration and Delivery workflows using tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker or Helm Charts
• You’re a strong communicator who loves to collaborate with a team, and can speak, write and use diagrams to convey complex ideas
• You have a growth mindset and have experience growing other Engineers
