Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Newport Beach, CA, onsite four days per week. You will drive modernization efforts for annuity policy administration platforms, focusing on AWS-based development, integration, and DevOps automation while providing technical leadership.

Required: 8+ years in software engineering, 4+ years AWS, and proficiency in Java or Python, plus experience in data processing and CI/CD. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Lead Software Engineer

Location: Newport Beach, California

Onsite, 4 Days per week

Rate: $87-92 an hour

Role Overview

Required Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Python, or another enterprise development language
• Experience designing data ingestion, replication, transformation, reconciliation, and operational data processing solutions
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deploying Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, networking, logging, and monitoring
• Strong technical leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

AWS certifications, mainframe integration experience, and familiarity with financial services platforms.
